What’s it all about?

Are you a football fan? How many grounds have you visited? Well a fine bunch of gents are planning to visit all the Premiership football grounds in just two weeks. Easy you may say, but not if you plan on cycling the route, especially when the route isn’t the easiest. We are planning to start and finish at Manchester City’s football ground hence ‘round the grounds’, as we will be virtually cycling around the country in a big loop therefore nearly doubling the mileage.

Why?

Jamie Lingard, Darren Howe, Simon Bradbury, Tim O’Reardon and support driver Bob Bowerman have challenged themselves to raise money for Christies. For those that have not heard of Christies, that’s good as it’s a place you don’t want to visit as it is a specialized hospital for the treatment of cancer.

Many of us have known or know of someone who has been affected by the disease and this is our chance to try and help make a difference. One of the riders, Jamie, was diagnosed with cancer back in September 2004 and was treated at Christies so it’s something very close to his heart.

All money raised will be going to Christies regardless of any cost to us!! Take a moment to look at the work Christies does for cancer research and treatment here.
